Specialised Suction Cups

Viton vacuum cups are specialised suction cups, moulded with a blend of high temperature Viton* therefore, they can withstand temperatures whilst safely manoeuvring products. Just one of Simmatic’s vacuum solutions. These VF Series vacuum cups are used primarily in demanding industrial environments, where standard rubber materials would degrade due to heat, chemicals, or harsh conditions.

Viton* is a synthetic rubber polymer and commonly used in o-ring applications for aircraft engines, automotive fuel handling systems and other applications requiring high temperatures and low compression set.

Our specialised suction cups are silicone and PWIS-free, manufactured from advanced fluorocarbon-based materials. They can resist very high temperatures for short periods. In addition, they leave no residue and produce virtually no marking, which means that subsequent finishing processes, such as painting, are entirely problem free.

In some manufacturing processes, sheet metal panels emerge from the production line at temperatures of up to 400° Celsius! Thanks to these high-quality suction cups from VMECA, the VF Series vacuum cups are capable of handling blanks as well as formed sheet metal parts and even convex surfaces. With metal panels, such as those used in the manufacture of vehicle bodies, the weight and therefore the thickness of the metal must, in almost all cases, be kept to a minimum. This means the panels distort easily, especially when hot. In addition, to dealing with high temperatures, Simmatic’s vacuum solution eliminates the risk of distortion, allowing the panels to be handled easily, reliably and with total confidence.

🔧 Key Properties of Viton Vacuum Cups

Chemical Resistance

➤ Excellent resistance to oils, fuels, solvents, and acids
➤ Performs well in environments with aggressive chemicals that would damage other elastomers like nitrile or silicone

High Temperature Tolerance

➤ Operational range typically from -20°C to +200°C (some grades up to 400°C)
➤ Ideal for applications involving hot surfaces or thermal cycling

Durability & Longevity

➤ Superior resistance to ozone, UV light, and aging
➤ Less frequent replacement compared to standard rubber vacuum cups

Low Permeability

➤ Excellent vacuum retention due to minimal gas permeability

🏭 Typical Applications

  • Automotive & Aerospace: Handling oily or hot parts (e.g., sheet metal, engine components).
  • Chemical & Pharmaceutical Manufacturing: Vacuum transport in corrosive environments.
  • Glass Industry: Picking up hot or coated glass.
  • Electronics: Where precision and chemical compatibility are key.
