Simmatic offer a range of advanced pneumatic bottle handling solutions from VMECA, designed to grip bottles better and ensure safe, efficient movement of both glass and PET bottles across automated production lines. At the heart of these solutions is the BOT Gripper range – engineered to deliver reliable, gentle handling for a wide variety of bottle types and sizes.
Grip Bottles Better
BOT Grippers for Glass and PET Bottles
The BOT Gripper range is specifically developed to pick up and transfer bottles made from different materials, including glass and PET (plastic). Each gripper is tailored to suit the characteristics of the bottle, ensuring optimal performance and minimal risk of damage.
Available options include:
BOT-Gripper BO40 / BO45 – ideal for handling glass bottles
BOT-Gripper BF28 – recommended for PET bottles (plastic)
Here’s Dale, in the video below, demonstrating the power of both bottle gripper options…
Unlike traditional vacuum systems, these grippers use a pneumatically controlled inflatable diaphragm. By applying compressed air, the system creates a soft yet secure grip on the top of the bottle – providing precise control to grip bottles better without compromising product integrity.
With a range of diameter options available, the grippers can be configured to suit different bottle sizes and production requirements. Multiple units can also be combined to create a customised End of Arm Tool (EOAT), offering flexibility for more complex automation setups.

How It Works
The gripper operates using compressed air to inflate an internal grip tube, which gently clamps onto the bottle.
Once the air supply is stopped, a check valve seals the inlet while a rapid exhaust system releases the air – allowing the bottle to be safely and efficiently released. This process ensures smooth handling and consistent performance in high-speed environments.
